Are There Any Side Effects or Reasons to Avoid Indian Head Massage?
The Body Wellness Clinic | Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire
Indian head massage is a gentle and generally very safe treatment, but as with any massage, it’s worth knowing what to expect afterwards and whether it’s right for you.
What You Might Feel Afterwards
It’s normal to feel a little tired, lightheaded, or to notice some mild muscle aching for a few hours after your treatment, as your body adjusts to the release of tension. This typically passes fairly quickly, and many clients find they feel more energised and alert once it settles.
Who Should Take Extra Care
Indian head massage isn’t suitable for everyone. If you’re pregnant, or have had a recent head, neck or shoulder injury, it’s best to consult your therapist beforehand, or avoid the treatment altogether. If you have an underlying medical condition, it’s always worth checking with your GP first.
Tell Us Before You Book
As with all our treatments, new clients complete a consultation form before their first session, covering your general health, lifestyle and any areas of concern — this helps your therapist tailor the treatment safely and appropriately for you.
